Thanks to Kaiser Permanente's Educational Theatre Program, the students at Boston participated in an assembly about health.  The purpose of the assembly was "to give children the tools to make responsible choices about diet and exercise, and equip them to face the day-to-day influences that sway them from healthier behaviors."  Students learned several tips that will help them take immediate action towards their own health and the health of their family.  These tips included: *  Stay away from drinks that a loaded with sugar.  Water is a better choice. *  Eat 5 colorful fruits and vegetables every day. *  Get away from the TV or computer, and play hard at something you like to do.  At least 20 minutes a day is ideal. *  Eat the foods that help your mood, your learning and your energy. Many websites and books will help to reinforce these tips.  Here are just a few that Kaiser Permanente listed on the Resource Bookmark given to the kids. www.fruitsandveggiesmatter.gov  Promoting vegetables and fruits in your diet every day. www.kidshealth.org/kid  Ideas for healthy eating and physical activity. www.kidnetic.com  A site with fun games and ideas for kids. www.kidshealthandfitness.org.au  Check out the "5 Fun Ways Wheel" at this site sponsored by the Australian Heart Foundation.  Oh, The Things You Can Do That Are Good for You!  wirtten by Tish Rabe A Dr. Seuss-like picture book with messages about healthy living The Busy Body Book written by Lizzy Rockwell A primer on the importance of physical activity in keeping one's body healthy
