Gang Awareness and Prevention

Officer Abbott from Aurora Central will be at Boston to provide a Gang Awareness & Prevention training for all staff members and parents. We are holding this training in response to teacher and parent concerns about gangs in our community.  The training will be March 4th from 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the gym. The Board of Education desires to keep district schools and students free from the threats of harmful influence of any groups or gangs which advocate drug use, violence or other unlawful or disruptive behavior.  Therefore, gang "wannabes," affiliation, membership, and gang-related activity will not be tolerated in the schools, on school grounds, in district vehicles or at school-related activities or events.  The principal or designee(s) shall maitain supervision of school premises to deter gang intimidation of students and confrontations between members of different gangs. Gang membership and gang related activity will not be tolerated at Boston.  Therefore, dress code is closely monitored.  Please help us to keep our school safe by monitoring your child's dress and ensuring that they are following dress code rules.
